y Special hybrid system for tire service car is born!! z

Place the backup battery for work under the floor, which is separated from the car battery for traveling. It is to configure the compressor, changer, balancer and other night lighting equipments of 7.5-horsepower motor in the environment in which they can be used for about 1 ` 2 hours when the engine stops (in a idling stop state). It is an energy saving system of epoch-making significance.

As it reduces the environmental burden on the work site and emits no tail gas completely, it can operate whether indoors or outdoors.

In addition, to prevent the battery's performance from falling as a result of over - discharge, battery protection unit is specially equipped. When the battery discharges to a certain voltage, the alarm will sound. If the battery continues to be used, the power supply will be switched off automatically.

For charging the backup battery for work, True | G alternator (ALT) generates power to rapidly charge the battery automatically while the engine starts and the car runs, so the battery need not be charged additionally.

y Intermittent operational mode of compressor necessary for hybrid system z

When developing the special hybrid system for tire service car, to research and finally determine the capacity of battery mounted on the car, we have measured how long the compressor can run in the intermittent operational mode on each errand (total operational time) and collected data. Finally we get the interesting data required for the research.

Generally the compressor mounted on car on errands, whether engine-type or electric, will adopt the unloading mode, that is, the pressure will be reduced through decompression pump automatically whenever there is air inside.
In that mode, the compressor is in the operational state whether for compression or for decompression. So it can be said during use that the work time is roughly the operational time of compressor.

But as the hybrid system needs to effectively use the limited residual power of backup battery for work and the above-mentioned unloading mode requires to consume a great deal of power, intermittent operational mode is adopted.

In the intermittent operational mode, stop automatically when the air pressure reaches 13.5 ` 14kpa and restart automatically when the air pressure falls to about 11kpa.

While using the one person-operated tire service car, there is much work for staff at the work site, including preparation and hoisting jack for replacement (retooling), etc. During this period of time, the compressor is in a stop state, so air is not necessarily used during the whole process.

The aim of data collection is to determine the approximate proportion between stopping and operation during practical work and finally determine the operational time (total operational time) of compressor during the work time. The result is that it accounts for nearly 1/2~1/3 of the work time, which is very low (short).

The test car is equipped with 7.5-horsepower (5.5kw) compressor rather than 5-horsepower (3.7kw) one, so air is rapid accumulated. If unloading mode which has been widely spread since a long time ago is used, it will continuously operate nearly in the entire work time and the fuel cost as well as influence on the environment can be more severe than imagined, which is of very low efficiency.

It can be further presumed that if the capacity of compressor is enlarged (7.5 horsepower to 10 horsepower), the proportion of compressor's total operational time in the work time could be lower (time shortened).
